Sunshine Wasn’t Aggressive — She Was in Pain
Sunshine came to us with swelling under her eye and sudden “aggressive” behavior. She growled when touched near her face and stopped chewing her food.
After a safe exam under sedation, we found the real cause:A severe infection in her upper premolar tooth (carnassial tooth abscess).
We surgically extracted the infected tooth and started pain medication and antibiotics.
Within 48 hours:✔ Swelling improved✔ Appetite returned✔ The “aggression” disappeared
Many behavior changes are actually signs of pain.
If your dog has:• Swelling under the eye• Dropping food• Bad breath• Sudden irritability
It may be a dental abscess — and it’s treatable.
